The founder, director, and primary instructor at JD Genius, Seida Wood is a licensed attorney in Florida and a highly skilled instructor with over 14 years’ experience teaching writing and test prep, including 9 years teaching the LSAT full-time. She has taught over 10,000 hours of private and small-group classes, including 8,000 hours of LSAT, law school, and Bar prep to nearly 600 students. She recently completed a Higher Education Teaching Certificate through Harvard University, HarvardX, earning a perfect score in the program. Seida has spoken as an expert on the LSAT at university admission events and she is also a Certified Professional Coach who provides mentoring and coaching to students and attorneys at any stage of their career.
In 2007, Seida scored in the 99th percentile on the LSAT after one month of self-study. She was a Soia Mentschikoff Scholar at the University of Miami School of Law, which she attended on a full academic scholarship. After her 1L year, Seida was first in her class of over 400 students, having the only perfect 4.0 GPA. While in law school, Seida received a number of academic awards, including two Dean's Certificate of Achievement awards for top grades in Civil Procedure I and Substantive Criminal Law. She was also on the editorial board of the Miami Law Review and was a certified legal intern and Clinical Fellow with the UM Children & Youth Law Clinic for three semesters. As part of her work with the Children & Youth Law Clinic, Seida conducted—and won—two evidentiary hearings before an Administrative Law Judge.
Seida graduated summa cum laude from UM Law. Upon graduation, she was nominated to the prestigious Order of the Coif, one of the highest honors a law student can receive. She passed both the Florida and Multistate Bar Exams after less than one month of self-preparation and practiced complex commercial litigation for three years before launching JD Genius in 2015. Seida is passionate about the law and is dedicated to helping her students excel in every aspect of their legal education and career.
